Cooking Up New Employment Opportunities for Locals in Cambodia

Following steps taken to train chefs in Cambodia in 2017 to help grow the tourist inflows to hotels in Siem Reap Cambodia and other regions, 436 graduate students from in and out of the country walked out in pride by 2022. The initiative was established by the Swiss Hotel Management Academy in Lucerne to reward world-class culinary expertise techniques to students of Cambodia, from which lodgings like FCC Angkor by Avani would benefit in the long run.

As reported on Trade for Development News by EIF on the 23rd of August 2022, this resulted in cooking up careers for locals, a major milestone for the country and its tourism industry. The academy hosts 25 staff members, growing in strength as each day passes. As the economy of Cambodia reopened, the country welcomed 95,000 travellers in the first two months alone, ringing bells of positivity for the upcoming future, paired with the culinary expertise of locals that were trained under world-class guidance.
