Puppeteering is an art that modern audiences are relatively unfamiliar with. The Covent Garden May Fayre and Puppet Festival has been an annual event that has entertained both the young and the old. This year, the festival was held on the 8th of May in the garden of St Paul’s Church, Bedford Street. It was a well-attended event and was also greatly enjoyed. Many audience members would have travelled from homes or hotels in Bayswater, London. Located within easy reach of St Paul’s Church, Berjaya Eden Park London Hotel is an ideal base from which to catch next year’s festival as well. Participants all joined in celebrating the 354th anniversary of the first sighting of Mr. Punch by Samuel Pepys. The festival brought puppeteers from around the country and also set the stage for performances by Punch and Judy professors. The day also featured clowns, food and lots of fun.
