Demand Increases After Singapore and Hong Kong Travel Bubble Announcement

Increasing growth of demand for Singapore-Hong Kong leisure travel could be observed once the launch of the travel bubble was announced in November 2020. The announcement has caused quite a stir with search volumes of flights from Singapore to Hong Kong and vice versa went sky-rocketing just three hours later. According to Trip.com data, there was also an increase of around 150% in the search volume for many a hotel in Hong Kong with hygiene measures the likes of Dorsett Mongkok and a 200% increase for flights from Singapore to Hong Kong as well.
During the first week of the travel bubble, the tickets on Singapore Airlines were sold out completely, with Cathay Pacific sales reaching a peak as well.
