Amidst global travel disruptions, Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar, has achieved the remarkable feat of being crowned the Best Airport in the World at the prestigious Skytrax Annual World Airport Awards. This accolade, breaking Singapore’s Changi Airport’s eight-year winning streak, highlights Hamad International Airport’s resilience and commitment to excellence, even during challenging times.

Despite the pandemic, the airport has continued its expansion plans, introducing additional health and safety standards. As Qatar geared up to host the FIFA World Cup in 2022, Hamad International Airport underwent further developments, including increasing its annual capacity to 53 million passengers and constructing a 110,000-square-foot tropical garden with a 900-foot-tall waterfall.
