Dragon Boat Festival (Tun Ng Festival) – Cultural Celebrations on the Water

The popular Dragon Boat Festival in Macau is set to take place on June 20th, 2015 and will offer locals and visitors a chance to be part of this unique cultural event. Commemorating the death of poet Wat Yuen who protested against corruption, this festival is held on the 5th day of the 5th month as per the dates on the Chinese calendar. The highlight of the event is the famous International Dragon Boat Races that not only attract local participants, but international teams as well. Organised by the Dragon Boats Association of Macao and the Sports Development Board, these lively races include the Macao International Invitation Standard Dragon Boat Race for both men and women along a 500 metre course.
