‘Dubai Sustainable Tourism Stamp’ for hotels – Taking tourism to the next level

Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) has unveiled a new initiative, the ‘Dubai Sustainable Tourism Stamp,’ aimed at acknowledging hotels that exhibit a strong commitment to DET’s 19 ‘Sustainability Requirements.’ This initiative was taken to align with the UAE Year of Sustainability, aligns with DET’s mission to bolster Dubai’s reputation as a premier sustainable tourism destination.

Developed in collaboration with Dubai’s hospitality sector, the ‘Dubai Sustainable Tourism Stamp’ intends to expedite efforts towards making the tourism industry more sustainable and supporting the UAE’s NetZero 2050 initiative. As Dubai pursues its sustainability goals outlined in the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33, this move will further solidify the city’s position as one of the world’s top three destinations with eco-friendly hotels.

To attain the ‘Dubai Sustainable Tourism Stamp,’ hotels across all classifications, including Avani Palm View Dubai, must meet DET’s rigorous standards across 19 sustainability requirements, including energy and water efficiency, waste management programs, and staff education. Accreditation will be overseen by an independent committee of industry experts, ensuring adherence to global best practices in sustainability.
