Dubai’s ambitious Al Shindagha Corridor Improvement Project is steadily transforming the city’s transportation landscape. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced in mid-May that the project was almost halfway complete, marking a significant milestone in this massive undertaking. Due to its scale, the $1.44 billion project has been divided into five phases and is expected to be finalised by 2030. Once completed, it will enhance traffic flow along the 13 km corridor, encompassing key thoroughfares like Al Mina Street, Sheikh Rashid Road, Cairo Street, and Al Khaleej Street.
By constructing three bridges spanning 3.1 km and upgrading 15 intersections, the project aims to increase road capacity, improve safety, and reduce travel time from 104 minutes to a mere 16 minutes. This infrastructure overhaul will undoubtedly benefit not only residents but tourists as well, as the city sees a growing number of arrivals eager to experience attractions and enjoy stays at luxury hotels in Dubai. This includes properties such as La Suite Dubai Hotel & Apartments which already offers easy access to the city and key sites of interest.
