DXB Poised for Record-Breaking Year with 91 Million Passengers – Dubai International Soars: 2024’s Unprecedented Passenger Surge

Dubai International Airport (DXB) is set for a record-breaking year, expecting to receive 91 million passengers in 2024, surpassing the previous record of 89.1 million in 2018. The airport handled 23 million passengers in Q1 2024, marking an 8.4% increase from last year, despite challenges such as heavy rain. January alone saw close to 8 million travelers.

Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, attributed this growth to the expanded networks of Emirates and flydubai. Dubai’s appeal is growing, with 17 million international overnight tourists in 2023, a 19.4% increase from 2022.

DXB connects 256 destinations across 102 countries with 90 international carriers. Top destinations include India, Saudi Arabia, the UK, and Pakistan. As Dubai solidifies its status as a global hub, many local hospitality establishments like Oaks Liwa Heights Suites Dubai — which is also the perfect place if you are looking for a lavish two bedroom family suite — will likely benefit from the surge in international visitors.
