Every year, the Kuramathi Island Resort Maldives hosts their Earth Week, a series of educational insights into the fascinating eco system of the Maldives islands.As a resort in Maldives, the Kurumati Island Resort has taken some great steps to educate the locals as well as the visitors on the importance of protecting the environment and the delicate eco-systems of the islands.This year, the event was held in April from the 16th – 22nd. A range of events including nature tours of the Kurumati Island, an aquatic clean-up day, snorkel clean-up, a presentation on coral bleaching, a terrestrial clean-up day and a special tree planting program was held as a part of this year’s Earth Week.All of these events won the enthusiastic support of the resort’s guests as well as staff members.In addition to actively participating in the conservation of the island’s ecosystems, resort guests were also provided some truly valuable insight into the importance of protecting nature.
