On the 26th of May 2018, President of Egypt Abdel Fatah al-Sisi met with Võ Văn Thưởng who is a politburo member and the leader of the ruling party’s Information and Education Commission. During the event, the Egyptian leader mentioned that the country is very much interested in increasing the mutual investments between the two nations and Egypt looks forward to increasing the tourist footfall from Egypt to Vietnam.
Võ Văn Thưởng and his delegates arrived at Egypt on the 23rd of May and Thưởng’s visit was a gesture of Vietnam to express its gratitude and to follow up on the Egyptian Presidents visit Vietnam. New plans on developing tourism in both countries along with many other diplomatic matters were also discussed during the meetings. Economists believe that this will be a great opportunity to improve the industry of tourism in Vietnam. Vietnam maintaining closer ties with Egypt will also increase the number of visitors who arrive at the resorts located in the remote islands of Vietnam the likes of Anantara Mui Ne Resort which is a resort in Mui Ne and many others.
