Enhancing Gulf Cooperation: The United Arab Emirates Vision for Streamlined Travel

In a true act of regional cooperation, the United Arab Emirates is drawing up a new visa framework to smoothen the travel process for citizens to the neighbouring Gulf countries. UAE Economy Minister Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri revealed plans for a new visa system designed to facilitate effortless travel for Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) residents within the GCC countries, with a particular focus on simplifying travel to Saudi Arabia.

The proposed visa system aims to enable GCC residents to traverse the region without the hindrance of visa applications, streamlining travel processes for citizens of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar, and the UAE. Minister Al Marri expressed optimism about the imminent implementation of this progressive scheme, which will ramp up tourism significantly, greatly benefitting several properties, including 5-star hotels in Abu Dhabi such as the Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara.
