For international travellers who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, quarantine free entry is on offer once more in Thailand. The country had eased its restrictions last year only to reimpose them in December due to fears of the spreading Omicron variant. Subsequently, on 1st February 2022, Thailand resumed its Test & Go programme for fully vaccinated tourists from any nation.
Such travellers can now enjoy holidays in popular destinations like the capital, Bangkok; city hotels certified as “SHA Extra+” are where tourists should stay and have a COVID-19 RT-PCR test booked for day one and day five. Such properties include the likes of Avani Atrium Bangkok which have stringent health protocols in place and offer Alternative Quarantine packages for unvaccinated guests too. Before entering the country, travellers must additionally have a negative result of an RT-PCR test taken within 72 hours of embarkation and the required medical insurance cover.
