Facts about tourist arrivals to Sri Lanka – Rising tourism from target markets

Sri Lanka is a faddish location when it comes to tourism. The island draws thousands of tourists every year for its glorious beaches, ample accommodation options like Amaya Langdale and the hill country rich in both culture and history. The main markets Sri Lanka is targeting this year are China, Germany, India, United Kingdom and Australia. Large marketing campaigns including heavy digital marketing have been planned for this purpose.
Tourist arrivals in Sri Lanka increased by 12.6% compared to last year. This April, 108,429 foreigners visited Sri Lanka. The markets from which the most number of tourists visited the island were India, China, and the United Kingdom. Holiday bungalows in Nuwara Eliya and other lodging spaces in the hill country and on the coast of the island have experienced increases visits during the month of April this year.
