The annual Fete De Pondicherry, held between the 15th and 17th of August, celebrates the liberation of the town of Pondicherry from French rule and coincides with India’s Independence Day, Liberation Day and the Birth Anniversary of Sri Aurobindo. Festivities take place in a number of venues around the town of Pondicherry and feature a plethora of Indian talent from the genres of traditional folk art to classical music. The town is quite pretty during this 3 day celebration with music filling the air and colourful lights illuminating the night sky.
For travellers heading to catch the festival or just to enjoy the beautiful culture of this town, a good Pondicherry hotel won’t be hard to find. The town is well equipped for the needs of travellers and an accommodation choice worth looking into is the Hotel Atithi.
