First Chinese Tourists Arrive in Thailand Since the Pandemic – More Expected This Year

Providing the tourist industry in Thailand an added boost, the first Chinese tourists recently arrived in the country since the pandemic. Their arrival coincided with the Chinese New Year in January as well as the relaxing of travel restrictions by authorities in China. These travellers visited key attractions like the Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn) in Bangkok as well as areas like Krabi. The latter continues to be a popular place to be based with accommodation options on offer at Ao Nang hotels; these include properties such as Avani Ao Nang Cliff Krabi Resort where visitors can experience the best this coastal region has in store.

In February this year, China also allowed group travel to many nations around the world including Thailand and this move will no doubt bring more tourists to the country. It’s expected that around five million travellers from Chinese will be welcomed here in 2023 and it will be hoped that this number will steadily increase in the coming years.
