The Thai government has announced that the first phase of the high-speed railway project, connecting Bangkok to Kunming in China, is set to be completed by 2026. The construction of this railway is expected to have significant benefits for the Thai economy and the tourism industry. According to Government Spokesperson Anucha Burapachaisri, the first phase of the railway will include six stops: Bangkok, Saraburi, Don Muang, Bangsue Grand Station, Ayutthaya, and Pak Chong district in Nakhon Ratchasima province. The total length of the railway project is 251 kilometres, and it involves 15 contracts for construction, including one for system construction and 14 for civil engineering work.
