First wave of Chinese tourists under new policies enters Thailand – Visa-free policies encourage travel from China to Thailand

The new, recently implemented programme by the Thai government for visa-free policies for Chinese nationals has brought about significant success, with the first wave of new entrants numbering in the hundreds currently arriving in Thailand for holidays and business. These very same individuals were welcomed by top Thai officials – such as the Prime Minister, Srettha Thavisin, with photo opportunities and gifts given.

This can be seen as a definite strengthening of relationships between the two countries, with foreseen positive consequences for businesses like the often-found Sukhumvit hotel, and other more affordable options like the Travelodge Sukhumvit 11, providing many alternatives for visitors to the country. The very same Chinese visitors will provide the same profits to many other hotspots around the country, such as Koh Samui and Hua H
