FITA 2020: Financing Investment & Trade in Africa
The very first edition of the Financing Investment and Trade in Africa conference was held from 6th to 7th February at the Laico Tunis – SPA & Conference Center in Tunis. The event was organised by the Tunisia-Africa Business Council in partnership with ministries of Investment and International Co-operation; it was initiated to address the difficulty face by Tunisian economic operators when trying to access funds and well as issues regarding the current foreign-exchange regulations. The chief goal of the conference was to establish solutions and present economic opportunities between Pan-African business personnel – from bankers and investors to venture capitalists.
More than 500 African officials and notables took part in the conference, with several taking part in debates aimed at finding ways to improve financing methods and techniques. Visitors from various other African nations also travelled to Tunis to take part in FITA 2020, with many staying at a hotel in Tunis, such as The Residence Tunis by Cenizaro.
