French Nationals from Reunion Island Can Now Enter Mauritius Without a Passport

In a boost for the local tourism industry, the Republic of Mauritius announced in September this year that French nationals residing in Reunion could visit this destination without a passport. This only applies to those arriving here on a holiday up to 30th June 2023 and such travellers must present a valid French identity card to receive “entry clearance”. Other conditions include that these tourists must spend a minimum of two nights in Mauritius and have confirmed accommodation and return air tickets.
