French Travel Agents Visit Sri Lanka – Hosted by Connaissance De Ceylan & Theme Resorts

From 18th to 26th June this year, leading French travel agents arrived in Sri Lanka on a visit organised by Connaissance De Ceylan as well as its hotel arm, Theme Resorts & Spas; this familiarisation tour was also conducted in parentship with the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau and SriLankan Airlines. On their nine-day, eight-night visit, the seven French travel agents were taken to key tourism hotspots including Kandy, Polonnaruwa, Sigiriya and Pasikuda in Sri Lanka; beach hotels in Pasikuda including the likes of Maalu Maalu Resort & Spa continue to be a big draw and will be key with the Northern Hemisphere winter season coming up as tourists look for coastal holidays.

On their visit, the French travel agents were also taken to lesser known but equally captivating local destinations such as Inginiyagala, Gal Oya and Mandaramnuwara. It’s hoped that such familiarisation tours, as well as exhibitions like this September’s, “Sancharaka Udawa” for tourism service providers in Sri Lanka, will help the country get its tourism industry back on track.
