Full Moon Parties Are Back in Koh Phangan – Revellers Flock to the Thai Island Again

Full moon parties are back in full swing on the Thai island of Koh Phangan marking a welcome return of this world-famous monthly event. The first of such parties took place in January this year and despite some rainfall, it was held successfully, drawing around 20,000 partygoers to the Rin Beach area. As quoted by the Bangkok Post, the President of the Rin Beach Operators Club, Tawich Somwang, stated two groups of visitors attended this full moon party; these were long-stay travellers who had arrived on the island before the New Year and short-stay visitors who were there for three days or so.

Long-stay visitors have helped boost the local tourism industry and at the time, they had contributed to the occupancy of hotels and guesthouses reaching 99%. While the second full moon party of the year took place on 5th February, the next is slated for 7th March 2023. For those planning on attending and looking for a suitable resort or hotel, Koh Phangan offers plenty of ideal options too. These include properties like Anantara Rasananda Koh Phangan Villas which offer a more secluded coastal getaway from which one can also head to the lively party at Rin Beach on the next full moon.
