With the primary objective of attracting 250 new tour operators from new and existing markets, Gateway to South Asia 2017 was held in Colombo alongside the well-known domestic travel and tourism fair, “Sancharaka Udawa”. Organized by the Ministry of Tourism Development in collaboration with Sri Lanka Tourism Board, the Gateway to South Asia attracted many industry specialists and enthusiasts. The event took place on the 4th, 5th and 7th of May, 2017 at Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH). Those planning to attend such events held at the same venue can consider accommodation at a Sri Lanka beach resort within relatively easy reach such as Jetwing Sea. The Gateway to South Asia focused on attracting operators flying to Sri Lanka with inbound traffic targeted from winter season of 2017.
