Get Free Diving Certification in Maldives – Say Goodbye to All That Scuba Gear!

Maldives has just opened up its first PADI-certified freediving centre. The centre, namely Aquafanatics, will be running under the tutelage of resident freediving champion hailing from Japan – Mari Kagaya. Mari has been based in Maldives since 2006 and has reached a depth of 46 metres.

The demand for water sports in Maldives is very high with many hotels and resorts offering options such as scuba diving, surfing, sailing and deep-sea fishing. Now Aquafanatics centres are also available at several upscale resorts such as Naladhu Maldives and others for those who want to indulge in some luxury as well as embark on some unforgettable adventures under the clear azure waters.

Kagaya highly recommends free-diving as it lacks the burden of putting on scuba gear and so divers depend solely on their own breath, reaching a new depth with every descent.
