Get ready for exciting festivals in Malaysia in 2022

Malaysia and vibrant festivals are a match made in heaven. As the country is home to multiple ethnic groups including the Malays, Chinese, Indians, and more, you can witness a range of festivals and celebrations that reflect unique cultures. These festivals take place throughout the year; so, if you travel to Malaysia at any time during 2022, you can be part of them and experience these dazzling events yourself! Countless beach resorts in Malaysia welcome hundreds of tourists each year as they flock together to attend these events.

Here are some festivals in Malaysia you can witness this year:

●      Thaipusam—As a very significant festival amongst the Hindus, Thaipusam celebrates the victory of good over evil. Taking place every year in January and February at Batu Caves, this electrifying festival honours Lord Muruga for vanquishing the evil demon Surapadman.
●      Chinese New Year—This is the largest Chinese festival in Malaysia. Typically celebrated in February, the Chinese New Year involves beautiful traditions including lion & dragon dances, firework shows, red lantern decorations, and many more. If you are staying at the Anantara Desaru Coast Resort & Villas, you can savour indigenous flavours and celebrate the event in style.

●      Malaysia Water Festival—If you plan to visit Malaysia in April, head over to Langkawi and attend the water festival to celebrate by splashing water on each other! Apart from that, you can also take part in the kayaking challenge, sandcastle building, and many more.
