GetYourGuide is one of the largest on-the-go booking platforms in the world. In collaboration with the Kyoto City Tourism Association, it recently launched a Kyoto destination campaign that runs till December 2023. This campaign is the first of its kind in Asia on the platform and travellers will have a chance to choose from various programmes developed together with the Kyoto City Tourism Association for an authentic and unique cultural experience.
Some interesting activities include discovering the Noh theatre, also known as the nation’s oldest form of theatre, which is based on classical literature and features a dream-like sequence made up of chants, movements and music. Those based at 4-star hotels in Kyoto city can also look to practice guided meditation with a Zen monk at Jōju-ji Temple.
For food lovers, you can embark on workshops to learn to make traditional sweets at Ninna-ji Temple, which is within easy reach from Park Hotel Kyoto; such accessible properties make an ideal base to visit the city’s ancient temples and other key attractions like Nijō Castle as well.
