In a move expected to bring in more tourists to the country, Sri Lanka is preparing to launch a global promotional campaign later this year; this was highlighted on the online edition of the Sunday Observer newspaper on 27th February 2022 which also quoted Kirmali Fernando, the Chairperson of the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA). The campaign which is planned for the third quarter of 2022, will consist of digital marketing and public relations initiatives as well as TV commercials that will target key source markets.
Apart from the many attractions and adventures on offer, another of the key allures for travellers to visit Sri Lanka is that those who are fully vaccinated can enjoy quarantine-free holidays. These tourists looking for coastal getaways can now stay at Passikudah hotels on the east coast which have been certified ‘Safe & Secure’; such properties like Amethyst Resort Passikudah are located right by the beach and have strict sanitisation and hygiene protocols in place too.
