Goa Carnival 2015

The most anticipated event in Goa is back! Time to get your masks and colorful costumes out as the Goa Carnival is set to hit the streets once again. The carnival is a must attend if you’re spending your vacation at a beach resort in Goa like the popular Alila Diwa Goa resort, as it is an open event where everyone can join in the merriment. Introduced to Goa by the Portuguese almost 500 years ago, the Goa Carnival is held this year from the 14th to the 17th of February. Over the years the carnival has become popular for not only the exotic traditional dances and short plays, but also for the modern entertainment added later on like glamorous fashion shows. The climax of the 5-day nonstop party is the spectacular parade of giant presentations, dances and extravagant floats with themes ranging from holy animals to gods and goddesses.
