Government in Sri Lanka to Launch ‘Visit Sri Lanka’ Tourism Plan

President Ranil Wickramasinghe announced the Sri Lankan government’s new rollout for tourism – the ‘Visit Sri Lanka’ initiative, whose proposal is apparently in the final stages of development, focusing on property development based on tropical scenery and culinary adventures. This means that locations around the country that vary in look – whether it’s a beach resort in Galle or hotels in Nuwara Eliya will be targeted for tourists.

The President went on to state that the aim was to draw 5 million tourists to viable properties such as Araliya Green City in Nuwara Eliya, signifying an attempt at taking the stage on the global level, competing with other prime vacation destinations all over the world, and the government’s recognition of the tourism to compete at such as level.
