As reported on the official South Australian Tourism website last October, the Great State Voucher scheme has been instrumental in boosting recovery in the local tourism industry; this initiative has seen a record number of South Australian residents redeeming vouchers to further explore and experience their home state. As highlighted in October 2021, the fifth and sixth rounds had generated close to 60,000 bookings for accommodation, experiences and tours. At the time, the scheme had altogether provided around $90 million to the local economy.
Making use of the vouchers, travellers were able to enjoy various holidays and adventures in South Australia including its capital, home to safe accommodation options like Oaks Adelaide Embassy Suites; for those based at such apartment hotels, Adelaide sightseeing was easily enjoyed too. The benefits of such schemes are far-ranging and offer those in the hospitality, tourism, and travel industries a much-needed lift. It will be hoped that this trend continues this year as well.
