Group exchange – 2nd Tamworth Textile Triennial – Threading and Textile Design Gathering

Taking centre stage from the 31st of May to the 26th of August the most highly anticipated textile design forum known as the 2nd Tamworth Textile Triennial will take place at the Wollongong Art Gallery from June 3rd onwards. Ideal for fabric and textile enthusiasts the exhibition celebrates the heritage of textile creation and promotional practices Down Under. Those who wish to visit the government funded event can head to Wollongong in time for the exhibition and stay at holiday homes by Emerald + Aqua or other hospitality hubs in the vicinity in addition to Emerald + Aqua.Exploring the legacy of textile design standards since 1975 the event is organized by both the Tamworth Regional Council and the Tamworth Regional Gallery with the hopes of engaging international and local audiences with the textile industry of Australia and its unique features and attributes. The exhibiting artists include 22 of Australia’s finest and the work on show explores the wealth of collaborative and interdisciplinary relationships within textile production in the county.
