Along with approximately 30 Christian leaders from the Gulf, the UAE’s Minister of State for Tolerance, Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, paid a site visit to the old Christian monastery located on Abu Dhabi’s Sir Bani Yas Island. The Christian leaders, including archbishops and bishops as well, came from several different denominations of Christianity, including the Roman Catholic Church, Anglican Church, Armenian Orthodox Church, Coptic and Greek Orthodox Churches, Evangelical Church as well as a few other churches. The monastery and church are just the tips of the iceberg when it comes to exploring all of the historical, archaeological and heritage sites to be found across the Sir Bani Yas island. Hotels on the island aren’t aplenty, however, the Anantara Sir Bani Yas Island Al Yamm Villa Resort makes for a great option in terms of accommodation.
