The Guru Purnima Gujarat festival is a day of full moon, in the months of June and July. This is a celebration honoring the sage Ved Vyas who is considered the original Guru of Hindu Dhamma. The festival was concluded on the 8th and 9th of August this year. The event features offerings presented to the guru and sessions of meditation remembering his action and teachings. The festival is celebrated throughout India in both ashramas and domestic households. Celebrations in asharamas such as the Bochasan Mandir are quite grand and majestic in nature. This is a glorious sight to relish and could be witnessed in any Hindu temple in the country, thus devotees and visitors seeking accommodation in Patan, Gondal or in hotels in Bodhgaya such as the conveniently located Oaks Bodhgaya may easily participate in the festival. The celebrations in ashramas usually begin with an assembly featuring bhajans and religious singing.
