Hanoi’s Virtual Monthly Passes Help Commuters Travel with Ease – Innovative E-Tickets Enhance Public Transport Experience

Hanoi’s virtual monthly passes for public transport, introduced nearly a month ago, are revolutionising commuter convenience, according to the Hanoi Public Transport Management Centre. The app, ‘The Ve Giao Thong Ha Noi’ (Public Transport Tickets in Hanoi), is available on both Android and iOS platforms. Once registered, users can access their virtual bus passes, which display personal details, ticket codes, and expiry dates, mirroring the hard ticket version.

This digital transformation allows passengers to manage multiple e-tickets simultaneously and ensures immediate ticket activation upon registration, eliminating the 3-4 day wait for physical tickets. Renewals and payments can be seamlessly handled through linked bank accounts on smartphones. Dao Viet Long, Deputy Director of the Municipal Department of Transport, highlighted this innovation as a significant leap towards modern, efficient services. For tourists staying at a 5-star Hanoi hotel the likes of Pan Pacific Hanoi, the ease of accessing and using public transport enhances their overall experience, contributing to reduced urban traffic congestion.
