Health Pass for Travellers Introduced by Indonesia – Country Promotes Responsible Tourism

Beginning August 27, 2024, Indonesia implemented the “SATUSEHAT Health Pass” for all international travellers in response to the Mpox virus, which has been classified as a public health emergency of global concern by the WHO. This electronic self-declaration health form must be completed within 48 hours prior to departure and is designed to facilitate enhanced health checks upon arrival in the country. As part of the process, a QR code is generated that indicates a traveller’s health status—green, yellow, or red—allowing for streamlined monitoring at key entry points, including destinations like Bali and Java.

The introduction of this health pass underscores Indonesia’s commitment to managing public health risks and was put in place in time for the Asia-Africa leaders’ meeting which was hosted in Bali this September. The country remains perfectly safe to travel to, offering plenty to see and do including at destinations such as Batam Island. Visitors planning to stay in hotels in Batam, Indonesia, will find convenient accommodations like Harris Resort Batam Waterfront, ideal for a relaxing getaway while adhering to the new travel protocols.
