The second edition of the popular Highway Gallery was launched on 7th April 2019 by Louvre Abu Dhabi along the E11 Shaikh Zayed Road. As part of this unique exhibition, 10 works of art from Louvre Abu Dhabi were reproduced by way of billboards spanning 10 metres in height or huge 3D sculptures. Drivers who are tuned into partner radio stations have the chance to listen to a short story about each artwork they approach.
One can find out more about these exhibits at Louvre Abu Dhabi; opened in 2017, this art and civilization museum is located within a 20 minute drive from Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa by Anantara and visiting it is one of the key things to do in Abu Dhabi. The Highway Gallery 2.0reproductions include a statuette of a Bactrian Princess dating back 4000 years, an 18th century suit of armour from Japan and The Dance Hall in Arles by Vincent Van Gogh (19th century).
