The 2016 installment of Sri Lanka’s most popular beach festival was held from the 9th to the 12 of December to coincide with New Year’s Eve and holiday festivities. Dubbed “Hikka fest 2016 – Ocean Vibe” the beach fest was organized by the Vibration Club in Hikkaduwa and attended by countless local and foreign revelers based at Mosvold Villa and similar hospitality hubs around the seaside hamlet. It was not only holidaymakers vacationing in a villa in Galle that made the drive down to Hikka 2016 however as many locals from the capital also joined in the festivities for the long weekend.
The beach festival included musical performances and acts while the entire event took on the guise of a never-ending beach party in one of Sri Lanka’s finest beach holiday destinations. Organized to draw the party-loving multitudes to the shores of Hikkaduwa, the beach festival has been a success since its inception.
