An event which will offer unique insights into traditional local games and provide plenty of family fun too, the Hilux New Zealand Rural Games is set to get under way this February. Held over the Waitangi holiday weekend from 6th to 7th February, the games will be hosted at the Queenstown Recreation Ground. Those planning to attend this free event can stay at Queenstown ski resorts within easy reach of the venue such as Oaks Club Resort. Visitors attending can look forward to witnessing a range of exciting events over the two days including hand milking, speed shearing, barrel racing, wood chopping and tree climbing championships.
