HK to Launch Health Code System for Travellers

Simplifying the Travel Process

Hong Kong has now launched a new health code system that will allow people to travel between Hong Kong, China and Macau without being subjected to mandatory 14-day quarantine periods. In order to achieve this feat, the government first appointed eight select hospitals to hand the testing for people that wish to travel to Macau and Guangdong. People that test negative will be provided with a QR code that’s valid for seven days which allows you to bypass standard quarantine protocols.

It is believed that the primary users of this system will be frequent business travellers that need to constantly travel between destinations. For those travelling to Hong Kong from China or Macau at this time, finding a major Hong Kong boutique hotel – such as the Cosmo Hotel Wan Chai Hong Kong – won’t be an issue either.
