Hoi An to put on a show marking liberation anniversary – Festivities come to life

By the Hoai River in the ancient town of Hoi An, was a spectacular display of colour and culture in the last week of March! There were lights, floating props and the watch was the stage. The performances by many skilled artists allowed those watching to go back in time from the 16th to the 18th centuries when the place was an affluent port town.

Performances included poetry, traditional singing, silkworm farming, mulberry cultivation displays, silk making and much more. The event also focused on ancient stories that surround the town. This was all in order to celebrate the 46th anniversary of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Tourist from Anantara Hoi An Resort and many a Hoi An hotel received a token of appreciation for the support provided during hard times when the COVID-19 virus began raging in Vietnam.
