Holi Festival Begins at End of the Month – A Time of Unity and Joy

The Holi Festival, also known as the Festival of Colours, will take place this month and is a time that people celebrate unity, new beginnings and the triumph of good over evil. It is amongst the most popular annual events in India mostly observed by Hindu devotees; however, people of all faiths are welcome to join in the customary traditions which include throwing coloured dye on one another. “Holika Dahan” which is the day before the festival, falls on 28th March this year and is when various religious rituals are carried out, while 29th March 2021 will be the main day for celebrating Holi.

Those planning a holiday during this time can look to stay at an apartment near Chennai CBD including properties the likes of Somerset Greenways Chennai; while this year the typical festivities may be toned-down due to COVID-19-related restrictions, there may still be special events in the city or at hotels or apartments.
