Emirates & Sri Lanka Tourism Strengthen Ties to Boost Travel and Trade
Strategic partnerships to power up tourism growth and global visibility for Sri Lanka.
At Arabian Travel Market 2025, Emirates renewed its partnership with the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) to support the island’s tourism and trade sectors. Through a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), both parties committed to collaborative efforts such as familiarisation trips and joint campaigns to position Sri Lanka as a top destination within Emirates’ global network.

The partnership has already contributed to a rise in inbound tourism, with Emirates flying over 240,000 visitors to Sri Lanka from major markets like the UK, Germany, and Australia between April 2024 and March 2025. This move aligns with the nation’s strategy to attract travellers to key experiences and venues, from iconic resorts like Heritance Kandalama to major and popular events in Sri Lanka.
Emirates’ deployment of its A350 and the upcoming Boeing 777 with refreshed interiors underscores its long-term commitment to expanding connectivity and convenience for international travellers exploring Sri Lanka’s diverse landscapes and cultural gems.
