Quoting figures given by Rene Trabelsi, the Tunisian Minister of Tourism, a recent online article published by The Arab Weekly highlighted the fact that the country’s tourism sector was showing signs of growth. The sector, in fact, recorded 9.5 million tourist arrivals in 2019, an increase of 13.6% when compared to 2018. This number also exceeded the goal set by Tunisian authorities at the beginning of last year in terms of arrivals which was at 9 million.
The diverse promotional campaigns targeting markets such as Germany, Britain and France were amongst the reasons cited for this influx of tourists to Tunisia. Hotels in the city and resorts in the desert the likes of Anantara Tozeur Resort continue to offer diverse accommodation options and experiences that are bound to attract more travellers in 2020.
