As reported in the Colombo Gazette on the 3rd of June 2022, India was recognised as one of Sri Lanka’s main source markets for tourism. Therefore, the best hotels in Colombo witness most tourist arrivals to be from India. As reported by the Tourism Promotion Bureau of Sri Lanka, a majority, 98% of travellers in particular that check in to hotels like Mandarina Colombo visit the country for leisure purposes, wildlife excursions and beachside fun.
In a mission to promote the country’s tourism sector in the midst of economic challenges, Sri Lanka Tourism participated in SATTE Travel Fair held in India from 18th to 20th May 2022.
