India-Maldives air bubble becomes the first in South Asia

Joining destinations

India has been the second-largest tourist market for the Maldives, but due to COVID – 19 conditions, boundaries were closed for the tourists as a precautionary measure. However, travel and tourism authorities of both destinations, in August 2020, had decided to create an air bubble between India and the Maldives bringing positive hopes for the travellers out there.

Every Maldives resort the likes of Kurumba Maldives was delighted to hear this piece of information and they had even made special arrangements to welcome the Indian holidaymakers who were visiting them after a while. To ensure the health and safety of the tourists, every party had made a special commitment, and they believe that, together, they will be able to re-develop the collapsed tourism industry of the Maldives in the recent future.
