Indians Focus on Short-haul Destinations – The Maldives Emerges as a Top Choice

With the resumption of global travel and the easing of travel restrictions, Indians are looking to enjoy holidays abroad once more; this has also coincided with schools having closed for the summer holidays making it the perfect time for family getaways too. One factor that has emerged during this period is that short-haul destinations have grown in popularity; one reason for this is that nations like the Maldives, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand offer easy access as opposed to European countries where one needs a Schengen visa which takes a long time to process.

From these short-haul destinations, the Maldives continues to be a popular choice not only because of its hassle-free access to tourists but diverse experiences too. These encompass everything from scenic beaches and exciting water sports to luxurious stays at the best resorts in Maldives including private island properties like Grand Park Kodhipparu Maldives. It is thus no surprise, that by the beginning of July this year, India emerged as the top source market for the Maldives with over 100,000 Indian tourists having visited this destination already.
