According to the Tourism Ministry of Indonesia, they have set a target to attract up to 7 million international tourists to Bali during the entirety of next year. Arief Yahya, the Tourism Minister stated that the target was not reduced as the number of visitors coming into Bali was lower when taking into comparison the 25 million and 32 million tourists arriving in Malaysia and Thailand.
He also went on to state that while Bangkok welcomed almost 18 million tourists per year, Bali actually had much more to offer global travellers than the capital of Thailand. Especially in terms of culture, natural attractions and Bali resorts including the likes of Anantara Uluwatu Bali Resort
While Bali actually welcomed 5 million foreign tourists as this October, the recent volcanic activity of Mount Agung located in Karangasem saw the rate of tourism slow down.
