The city of Bangkok still retains the top spot as one of the best street food destinations with visitors. According to TAT, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is currently enforcing supervisory measures to regulate food vendors.
The BMA stated that it appreciates the fact that food vendors and their culinary delights are a vital part of the city’s identity and helped Bangkok be listed by CNN as one of the 23 best cities in the world for street food.
To ensure safety and convenience of all pedestrians and road users, MBA is enforcing actions regarding road and sidewalk reconstruction. Popular streets such as Chinatown’s Yaowaraj and Khao San Road which can be accessed from many a surrounding hotel in Silom, Bangkok including the likes of Anantara Sathorn Bangkok Hotel, will not face any changes. However, these areas will receive attention to ensure international hygienic standards which should be met by vendors.
