Indonesia Plans to Expand its Visa-free Entry Policy – Initiative Expected to Increase Arrivals
Indonesia is set to further boost its tourism industry with the government currently formulating plans to expand its visa-free entry policy to encompass approximately 20 additional countries. Currently, this privilege is extended to fellow ASEAN members such as Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia and Vietnam. Expected to be implemented before the change of government in October 2024, the new policy will feature major tourist markets; these include Australia, China, Japan, the United States, India, South Korea, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Russia.
The nation’s many attractions continue to draw travellers the world over who can also choose from diverse accommodation options in key cities. These range from serviced residences and senior apartments to hotels, co-living spaces and more, offered by hospitality brands like Discover ASR, further enhancing the allure of Indonesia as a top travel destination. With the expanded visa-free entry policy to also soon come into effect, the country is poised to reach new heights in the global tourism landscape.
