Indonesia to Boost its Tourism Industry – 645 Million USD Allocated for Tourism Revival

As per a statement made by Sri Mulyani, the Indonesian Finance Minister, on 27th September 2021, the government will allocate 645 million USD from its 2022 state budget to help the recovery of the tourism industry. Speaking at the National Coordination Meeting of Tourism and Creative Economy, the minister further revealed that several aspects had been selected for development within the industry; these included private participation and promotion as well as accessibility, attractions and amenities.

Like many nations around the world, Indonesia saw a steep decline in visitors due to the pandemic. It will be hoped that with the easing of travel restrictions and international borders being reopened, the tourism industry will get back on track. The nation’s capital continues to be a major draw with serviced apartments in Jakarta providing an ideal base for business and leisure; furthermore, properties like Somerset Sudirman Jakarta also offer safe accommodation options in the city which will be in demand by travellers.
