Indonesian Tourism Minister to Revise Foreign Tourist Arrival Target – Exceeding Projected Numbers

Indonesia’s Tourism and Creative Economy Minister, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, has revised the target for foreign tourist arrivals in 2024 to 17 million, up from the previous goal of 14.3 million, citing the surpassing of the 2023 target as motivation. With arrivals reaching 11.68 million in 2023, doubling the lower limit target and exceeding the upper limit by 40 per cent, boosting past the 2022 figures of 5.89 million, the minister expressed optimism in reaching pre-pandemic levels.

Notably, visitors from Malaysia, Australia, Singapore, China, and Timor Leste constituted the bulk of arrivals in 2023, with Uno expressing gratitude and prompting the intention to personally engage with friendly nations to further stimulate international tourism to Indonesia in the upcoming year. A lot of this success in the tourism industry could be attributed to high-quality accommodation like the Citadines Sudirman Jakarta, a fine example of Newton Tower apartments in Jakarta.
